RENÉ,
, the oldest, carries the same name as his father
and grandfather from France. He is baptised on the
3rd April 1657, at Château-Richer. "He
will spend his childhood at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré
and at St-Joachim. In his youth he will work at the
Seminary of Québec; no doubt he received this
job thanks to his uncle Jacques Godin, a brother to
his mother. " On the 4th Novembre 1683, he marries
at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, a girl named Marguerite
Bouchard, daughter of Claude and Louise Gagné
. " The couple will make their way to Petite-Rivière-St-François
as early as 1684, will raise a dozen children and
accrue a certain wealth. We find Lavoie descendants
of this branch to the South and East of Quebec city.
" Marguerite Bouchard dies at Petite-Rivière,
on the 6th April 1731 and René will follow
her shortly after, that is on the 8th December of
the same year. René had been captain of militia
for a number of years at Baie-St-Paul.

JEAN,
, born in June 1660 at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré."
He helps his father in cultivating the land and also
works on the lands belonging to the Seminary. He will
become a servant of François Bélanger
and Marie Guyon, at the fief of Bonsecours of L'Islet.
He is the head of the branch of Rivière-Ouelle
and the Bas du Fleuve. " G. Lebel.On the 22nd
October 1688 at Rivière-Ouelle, he will marry
M.-Madeleine Boucher, daughter of Jean-Galleran Boucher
and of Marie Leclerc of St-Denis-de-la-Bouteillerie.He
is among the heroes who repelled the advance of Phipps
and his American soldiers in 1690. The curé
of Rivière-Ouelle, M. de Francheville, appealed
to his parishioners to force back the first wave of
the attack from the Bostonnais for he had learned
that the invaders might attempt a landing at Rivière-Ouelle.
It was a complete success and this defeat by the Americans
was but a prelude to the disaster that awaited Phipps
before Québec a few days later.Jean De La Voye
was buried in the cemetery of Rivière-Ouelle,
between 1715 and 1717 and his wife Madeleine Boucher,
died at Hôtel-Dieu of Québec, on the
3rd March 1723. They had thirteen children, all born
and baptized at Rivière-Ouelle.

ANNE,
born on the 17th and baptized on the 19th February
1664, at Château-Richer, by the priest Thomas
Morel, godchild of Jean Boutin dit Larose and Jeanne
Mercier. On the 22nd Novembre 1683, at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré,
she marries Pierre Allard, carpenter, son of Pierre
and Mathurine Verdon of Ste-Hermine, diocese of Luçon,
Poitou, France. Marriage contract drawn up at notary
Étienne Jacob, and dated 20th June1683 inventory
of his belongings on the 4th July 1690, with the same
notary.Anne dies on the 3rd August 1686, at Ste-Anne,
barely two weeks after giving birth to her son, Pierre
Allard, born on the 19th and baptized on the 20th
July 1686; married in May 1714, to Hélène
Perron, at Baie-St-Paul; he dies on the 17th April
1715. A younger daughter had preceded his son, Marie
Allard, born on the 30th and baptized on the 31st
August 1684, at Château-Richer; at the age of
26, on the 13th January 1710, she will marry Joseph
Brodière (40 years old); she dies between 1713
and 1715.

PIERRE,
born on the 3rd, baptized on the 17th August 1666,
by father Thomas Morel, at Château- Richer;
he is the godchild of Jean Barette and Charlotte Giguère.
On the 2nd May 1696, at St-François of Île
d'Orléans, he joins his destiny to that of
Constance Duchesne, daughter of Pierre and of Catherine
Rivet. Constance dies before the inventory of 1715
(with notary Abel Michon, of Berthier), after giving
him 4 children all baptized at St-Michel de Bellechasse.On
the 10th February 1716, at St-Michel, Pierre marries
for the second time, Madeleine Tourneroche, widow
of Julien Dumont dit Lafleur. Already mother to 7
Dumont children, she will give him 3 daughters in
this second marriage, all born in Berthier and baptized
at St-Vallier.

JACQUES,
was born at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré on the 12th
and baptized on the 30th September 1669, at Château-Richer.
He marries on the 15th February 1706, at Baie-St-Paul,
Angélique Garand, daughter of Pierre and of
Catherine Labrecque. Angélique will die on
the 17th May 1718, at Baie-St-Paul. Five children
are issued from this union, all baptized at Baie-St-Paul.On
the 7th August 1719, at Charlesbourg, Jacques marries
Marie Barbot (Barbeau), daughter of François
and Marguerite Hédouin, widow of Jean Bernard
and mother of two children of whom only one survived
(contract : notary Robert Duparc). This couple lived
in Charlevoix and added seven more " Lavoie "
subjects to the lineage, all born at Petite-Rivière-St-François
and baptized at Baie-St-Paul.It is Jacques who started
in the middle of the 17th century to cut back the
"de " portion of his name and signed simply
" Lavoye ". Jacques was buried at Petite-Rivière-St-François,
on the 3rd January 1752.

MARIE-MADELEINE,
born on the 1st and baptized on the 21st April 1672,
at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, godchild of her uncle
Pierre Fréchet and of Marie Guyon. At the age
of 15 years, on the 6th October 1687, at Ste-Anne,
she marries Estienne Gaudard dit Lapointe, son of
François and the late Louise Leriche. Marriage
contract dated 21st September 1687, notary Étienne
Jacob. M.-Madeleine, at times, practised the art of
midwife. She had nine children all born and baptized
at Château-Richer.M.-Madeleine died at Château-Richer,
on the 6th June 1743 while her husband Estienne Gaudard
had already passed on since the 26th February 1724.

BRIGITTE,
born on the 24th and baptized on the 31st March 1675,
at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, by father Thomas Morel,
missionary priest; godchild of Joseph Guimont and
Anne Galet. On the 3rd November 1697, she marries
Charles Routhier, son of Jean and Catherine Méliot
of Ancienne Lorette. Marriage contract dated 3rd November
1697 at notary Guillaume Roger. The burial of Brigitte
took place at Ancienne Lorette, on the 10th July 1727.
They had nine children.

JOSEPH,
, born on the 13th, baptized on the 17th January 1678,
at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, godson of his brother
René and of Geneviève Fortin. The priest
attending was Thomas Morel, missionary priest. On
the 21 November 1701, at Ste-Anne, he marries M.-Françoise
Guimont, daughter of Joseph and of Anne Paré;
she is the widow of Noël Racine and mother of
one little girl of less than 4 months of age. Marriage
contract dated 10 Nov 1701, notary Étienne
Jacob. (In the marriage entry of the PRDH, the name
of the father is said to be Étienne-René
Delavoye.)Françoise died on the 11th May 1725
(40 years), at St-Joachim after having given birth
to 8 other children of which the first 7 were baptized
at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré.
